This course is designed to equip local government officials and staff with the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to write successful grant proposals. Participants will learn how to identify appropriate funding sources, develop compelling proposals, and manage the grant application process from start to finish.

- Introduction to Grant Writing: Understanding the basics of grant writing and its importance for local government projects.
- Finding Funding Opportunities: Techniques for researching and identifying potential funding sources, including federal, state, and private grants.
- Proposal Development: Step-by-step guidance on crafting a strong proposal, including writing objectives, project narratives, and budgets.
- Grant Guidelines and Requirements: How to read and interpret grant guidelines and requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Budget Preparation: Creating detailed and realistic budgets that align with project goals and funder requirements.
- Submission Process: Navigating the submission process, including electronic submission systems and deadlines.
- Grant Management: Post-award processes, including reporting requirements and compliance.
