Principles of Municipal Bookkeeping (02-27-19) (Berks County)

$80.00This course is designed to provide municipal officials including: auditors, municipal secretaries, treasurers, clerks, administrators and elected officials with relevant information regarding the basic concepts of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Our instructors will provide attendees with an introduction to fund accounting using accounting basics such as assets, liabilities and fund equity. They will review double entry bookkeeping, monthly accounting cycles, realistic accounting transactions (including debit and credit exercises), vouchers, account reconciliation and related computer software. Attendees will have an opportunity to review the Chart of Accounts and learn how it links to the Accounting System, the Annual Budget and the Annual Audit report. Participants will have the opportunity to network with other municipal treasurers, sharing tips on how to perform essential functions of the job.
Attendees will have an increased knowledge of municipal financial record keeping and better able to work within their local government on annual budget and audit processes.
